A Little Snow...

It's been a busy 2012, but Spring break is around the corner and the mild winter has made us anxious for warm weather to arrive.  We did receive a few inches of snow last week which made for a beautiful drive to work, but not enough to play.

Holiday Break

We visited Indiana for Christmas break and enjoyed the mild winter.  We got to mountain bike at Brown County, which was recently listed as an epic trail system.  I will admit summer would be more enjoyable after riding in 20 degree weather and being covered in ice and mud after the ride, but the trails are awesome!  After returning home I got Lasik eye surgery.  Although it was a rough month and I did not heal nearly as quick as the sales material stated I would, I am VERY happy and still amazed I can see so clearly! Here is to a great 2012!

Winter

Although winter is technically here, we've had no signs of old man winter.  Today we hiked at Elk Knob and it was a high of 60 on the mountain.  I was thankful for the views, sunshine and sweet mountain air.  It's my only time during finals week I could sneak out.  We've had a busy fall/winter cross racing, playing outside, cooking, and my annual visit to Kiawah Island with SC peeps.  Finals are here and in a week we'll be heading North for the holidays. 

Hickory Knob Triathlon

Although it was a rather cold start for the Hickory Knob Triathlon we all had a great race and time.  The best part of the race was the cool temperatures and pier start in the water.  

 

Happy Brithday Sean!

We celebrated Sean birthday weekend with a little party and mountain biking in Wilson's Creek.  It was a great weekend!

Labor Day

We traveled to Clemson, SC for Labor Day.  We played on the lake, Sean raced, and enjoyed seeing all our peeps.  I will say the heat and humidity was unbearable after being on the mountain, but we survived!  Now, it's back to school and waiting on ol' man winter.

Chattanoga, TN

We traveled to Chattanoga, TN to a race for Sean and to visit the Racoon Mountain Bike Trails.  We had a great time and was pleasantly surprised how cool of a city Chattanoga is!  The food was fabulous and mountain bike trails along the TVA awesome! Worth a trip!
