is finally here! Went out for my first day on the slopes and the legs are feeling it! Heading down to Kiawah for the half marathon and a visit with the girls. Happy Holidays!
Fall semester has flown by! It seems to go faster each year. We celebrated the Snape's wedding with great friends, cross raced, and spent some time at home. Now we are on the road for Thanksgiving, the Kiawah half marathon and then Costa Rica after xmas. Happy Holidays to all!
Fall is finally in the air with cool temps and fall colors. We've had a busy September with so many birthdays and travels. I harvested the last of my tomatoes and was invited to judge sheep at a local 4-H show. School is very busy and we are hosting two South African students for a few weeks. October will prove to be just as busy with no end in sight. At least I have plans for next summer!
I don't know where summer went! My garden has been fruitful this year and I have been busy canning and putting up for the winter. I've been hiking on some great NPS trails by our house where I am supervising a student intern. Chip came to visit us for our week and it was nice to have him back in the states. We are now spending Labor Day in Clemson and enjoying a cool, beautiful weekend!
Was a busy month! I spent the majority of it in Indiana completing the Muncie Endurathon and visiting family and friends. I always plan my trip during the 4-H fair so I can see my favorite cowgirl! I miss the flat lands with lush fields of corn, warm nights, and sweet Indiana tomatoes. August has crept up once again, so I will spend the next few weeks working on school prep. Sean heads to KY for Master Nationals this weekend, wish him luck!
I had a busy week before the July 4th weekend, which included paddling down the New River and riding on the VA Creeper trail with friends. We went to the Wood's for holiday weekend and had a great time seeing friends and the kids! Off to Indiana to visit family and the Muncie Endurathon.
is not what we have in the mountains! We are busy between playing and work. We've visited family, my folks came for a week, painted, and Sean rode Blood, Sweat and Gears. We spent a little time Sunday sitting in the New River with the dogs. The weather has been beautiful! We are heading to Clemson for the July 4th weekend to play, swim, ride, and see Miss Molly.
We've enjoyed spending summer on the mountain. It's nice and cool, with spectacular views. I can't imagine why I'd leave! Sean headed out to Tulsa Tough! in OK and had some great results.. And I spent some time in Wilson's Creek mtn biking. Summer school is out and now it's time to play!
Has been a busy month consisting of the end of the school, farm sitting, racing, and traveling. I am happy to have my first year under my belt at ASU and will be teaching a summer course in June. I spent over a week on the farm sitting and was able to ride/see all my Clemson peeps. Currently, we are in Hilton Head with the Wood's enjoying some vacation time.
This weekend we had the chance the visit the popular Grandfather Mtn for only a dollar! Locals get dollar days in April and we went to see all the tourist attractions. The swinging bridege was the was highlight at over 5,000 feet. The winds were above 50mph and the bridge was swinging. It was sad to see how they had habituated the bears allowing people to feed them. Although they have worked hard with the bear introduction programs in the Blue Ridge, the feeding of bears was unacceptable. We hope to return to the area and do some back country hiking this summer. What a great place in our backyard!
