A Goodwill Find
Out of all our Goodwill finds this may be the best! I had planned on making Sean a change skirt for bike races, but why when we can buy one for $1.50! He agrees...

Ohio and Masters
We've had a busy week racing at Tour of Grandview, Masters Nationals, and visiting friends. Thanks to Todd and Yoey for ALL their hospitality! They deserve an award for hosting the Globalbike team. It was also great seeing long time Tour of Grandview host family Steve and Scottie. Sean placed 18th in Cincinnati and came out early at Grandview to save the legs for Masters. I raced Sunday only and placed 14th for $80, which paid for my race and Masters. Sean finished 21st in the road race out of 100 guys. It was an eventful race with numerous wrecks and the break of 4 missing the finish, so the 5th rider won the race. Sean was happy to have avoided so many crashes, considering his rough Spring. I raced the criterium and finished 7th. I am disappointed in my racing; however, am trying to be patient as my body recovers from illness. I will admit my post race meals were more of a highlight than my racing! We are visiting family for another few weeks in Indiana and plan to race in Superweek. Posted are pix of the remodel job, friends, and racing. Until next time enjoy summer...

Keep the Rubber Side Down
While riding in Boone Sean had an unfortunate encounter with the pavement. Heading into Banner Elk on HWY 194 at 40mph down hill his back wheel locked up. The result was major road rash, sparks flying from the bike, and another kit ripped. Luckily, he walked away. I've never seen road rash with such colorful bruising. He had to get a new bike replacement, although not necessarily from this accident. He's had a rough Spring, but is convinced the new bike will not see any pavement time. We're now in Indiana for the summer. Will keep you updated on racing.

In the Mountains
We are finally in the mountains and settling in. I was able to get all my paper work done at ASU and Sean went on some great rides. Unfortunately, after 2 weeks of feeling extremely run down I went to the doctor. Lucky for me I have strep throat...again. I will admit all this moving has run my system down and I don't listen to my body well. So, I have spent the week resting and taking some serious drugs. But, before I decided to rest I did a 20 mile XC2 mtn bike race in Clemson. I got 7th and felt extremely weak, especially considering they are my home trails. I just thought I was tired, on a a new bike, and out of anaerobic shape, but good to know I was really sick. I forgot how much mtn biking HURT! We head to Indiana on Monday to stay with family for July and race. I will drop Sean off in Ohio to race the Tour of Ohio. Hopefully, I feel well enough to get some result at Masters Nationals. Here are a few pix from our time in Clemson at the farm and with the Wood's.
