And We're Off!

I know it's only February, but our whirlwind summer has begun! We finished our first of three weekends of racing in Greenville. Sean rode strong with admirable finishes and is working on team strategies. His new team, Globalbike, is a great organization. Check it out!

Saturday I rode with the Clemson girls and it was good to catch-up. Jennifer rode with us for an hour only three weeks after deliverying Zoey. We realized later her innards could have fallen out. I quess ignorance is bliss! We met Zoey Elizabeth and she is just as beautiful as her pictures! Zachary and I went to the farm on Saturday to see Molly. He helps me brush Molly, but is most interstsed in the chickens.

Sunday was a brutal race at the Donaldson Center. The temps were low and wind gust over 25mph. There were numerous attacks and a tough women's field. I tried to follow a few attacks, but let my ego get the best of me and blew up. It's a good thing it's a training series! My teammates all worked hard and Caroline had a great weekend after recoverying from her graduate work. It's good to have her back!

We are happy to report Cooper has been improving, much to our suprise. He can now walk on his own. Sean now has him on a strict PT routine. We are happy his quality of life is returning. Until next weekend...

Changing Times

We've been off the radar for a while enjoying some down time in the Boro, although it has not been uneventful. Sean helped the Georgia Southern Cycling team host their home road/crit race this past weekend. Sean has been a great coach and role model for the guys.

On a sad note Cooper lost the use of his back right leg due to either a tumor or disc putting pressure on his nerves. He is currently on steroids and needs a bottoms-up leash for assistance while walking. He is relatively functional, although very sad he can't play with his ball. We are not anticipating a full recovery. He is very old and up to this point been extremely healthy. We plan to assist him and make him comfortable. This creates some unique challenges for our active traveling lifestyle, but we'll adjust. The next three weekends are busy as racing begins for the season. We'll be in Clemson/Greenville racing and enjoying seeing friends with Maya and Cooper.
